Before Mish

Head of Equity Crowdfunding — PledgeMe

PledgeMe helps Kiwis fund the things they care about. They’ve been doing that since 2012 when the company founded as a rewards-based crowdfunding platform. In 2014, PledgeMe attained its license to assist companies in equity crowdfunding and in 2015 did the same thing for peer-to-peer lending. That’s where I came in and where I learned how to build a business in a heavily regulated sector… tl;dr: it sucks, but I learned more from it than my Master’s degree (in half the time).

I oversaw PledgeMe.Equity and looked after our Auckland Office which also got our lending license of upright and out the door. PledgeMe is a team of do-gooders & get-shit-doners helping Kiwis raise funds for things they care about. They rock and if you want to raise funds for something you care about in New Zealand and Australia give them a buzz (or tweet)
